A Purposeful Life
Do you know what kind of life you want?
As your coach I’m not here to give you answers. I cannot reach into your mind and claw out some earth shattering realization for you. In fact, I don’t even guarantee that you will make any progress at all.
I say this because many times people are looking for a guide, a guru, a mentor, a guarantee from someone who has ‘figured life out’ that they can show them the way. That can be comforting, I know.
But is that empowering?
What coaching can create for you is a safe non-judgemental environment, a creative space, a mirror to your thoughts, and the mental tools for deep inner exploration.
You can buy all the gear but I can’t climb that mountain for you.
You can pay the education fees but I can’t study for you.
You can purchase the gym membership but I can’t exercise for you.
This is your journey, your discovery, your time. I’m here to help you decide where to direct your efforts.
THIS is empowering
So how is this space created? I listen without judgment and I question without fear.
If you’re willing, follow me on this exercise…
1. Bring attention to your posture in this moment.
2. Take a deep breath and relax your shoulders.
3. Set a timer for 15 minutes and promise yourself you will not stop
thinking until the timer goes off. Even if its uncomfortable.
4. Type or write down on paper your thoughts on the following questions:
There is no need to do it in any particular order.
What do you value most?
What lights your fire? How can you have more of that in your life?
What big dreams do you have?
What have you told yourself that stopped you from making it a reality?
What are two things you can do, today, that can take you closer to the life that you want?
Through questions like these as well as exercises adapted from psychology and NLP we can create, together, the right environment for you to clarify your thinking, elucidate your values, and dig deeper into yourself to find the vision that most resonates with your authentic self.
Are you coachable?
I can make the time to invest in my growth
I can find the resources to invest in my growth
I’m willing to work hard to get what I want
I'm willing and ready for change
I'm willing to try new ideas
I have patience to keep taking actions toward my goals regardless of how long it takes
If this sounds like you then there is no telling how far coaching can take you.
